In April I was invited to be location sound recordist on an independent film project in rural Cumbria. The upcoming film is Raven on the Jetty, directed by Erik Knudsen, founder of One Day Films. The film explores the relationship of a boy and his parents as he encounters an unfamiliar world around him. Working with Knudsen and the rest of the crew and cast was an inspiring and unforgettable experience. The crew included Mark Duggan (Assistant Director & Cinematography), Janet Knudsen (Production Manager) Taddeus Walsh (Assistant Art Director), Madeleine Millar (Art Director), Alex Gilbert (Production Assistant), Tara Knudsen (Production Assistant), and Richard Mulhearn (still photography). The cast included Connor O’Hara, Robert O’Hara, Helen Teasdale, Anne Fraser and Anne Lees. Each cast member gave wonderful performances and Connor, who played the main character Thomas, inspired us all with his endurance and acting abilities at the young age of eleven. I am honored to be part of the project and truly enjoyed recording elements of the sonic environment of rural Cumbria. I’ll post some sounds here soon. Now I look forward to assisting my Kinokophone colleague, Michael Cacioppo Belantara on the post production sound design.
The first Kinokophonography Radio Retrospective is available to listen to on the Kinokophone website. It features recordings and interviews with field recordists and artists from around the world! Tune in to celebrate the sounds around us!

Currently I’m working on a Kinokophonography radio show retrospective, commissioned by Octopus Collective as part of the FONair micro-commissions programme.
sweet beautiful soul
imaginative and dreaming
i was so blessed to know
my heart aches you are gone
but your spirit it flows
in harmony with the universe
glowing a bright light
showing us the way home.
we love you
